Abstract

The development of this paper comprises the application of hybrid systems for upper limb that allow helping a patients with spasticity effect. The combination of two different techniques was implemented: first, the functional electric stimulation (FES), which is an important for restoration of paralyzed extremity function and second, the orthesis as external orthopedic instrument used to modify the structure and functional characteristics of the neuro-muscular system. © 2013 Springer.
