Abstract

Survey of new designs in GFRP ncluding materials testing developments. Ultrasonic and high speed and thermal nondestructive testing methods have been developed for detecting flaws and property differences in carbon-carbon composites. Examples of GFRP engineering applications include-a single seater gyrocopter; GFRP mortar pipes for fluid conveyance; BRS Advisory service in the United Kingdom; GFRP rowing dinghies; DMC tool stand; and GFRP constructions for the canopies of steet lanterns.
