Abstract

This work shows that aztreonam-avibactam lacks activity against anaerobic organisms. Aztreonam-avibactam is under clinical development for multidrug-resistant Gram-negative infections. We evaluated in vitro activity against 341 recent clinical isolates. The addition of avibactam to aztreonam had no effect on the anaerobic activity of aztreonam. IMPORTANCE This work shows that aztreonam-avibactam lacks activity against anaerobic organisms.
