Abstract

A test model based on hierarchical state machine is proposed for embedded software testing in this paper. This state machine model shares the same characteristics of object-oriented methodology, such as encapsulation, delegation, and polymorphism. With consideration of model-based embedded software testing, the states and events of the model are analyzed. Also, a test state machine is designed and implemented, illustrated with a practical application example. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
