Abstract

Microsimulation is an emerging technique used to investigate transport planning options through simulation modelling. Its outputs serve two purposes; to present a visual image of the predicted traffic suitable for public presentation and to provide quantitative answers to differentiate between the levels of service offered by road design options. This paper discusses the input data requirements the simulation process, and these outputs.
