Abstract

In digital communication, we often send pulses over a channel with no carrier as it is in the case of analogue signals. One of the possibilities is that the information may be sent over dedicated lines as in the case of a wired LAN. This is called baseband transmission since no carrier is involved. The topics covered are as follows: Matched Filter, Error due to Noise, Intersymbol Interference, Special filters, Correlative level coding and optimised receivers.
