Abstract

INTRODUCTION. In this paper the results of the evaluation of a "Personal Learning Environment" (PLE) are used to assess their potential and effectiveness. The goal was to analyze if the students are able to learn through the designed telematic environment METHOD. For this study we believe that the most suitable technique is a written test (pretest-posttest), with different test questions and which are formulated considering Bloom's taxonomy: remembering, understanding, applying and analyzing. The pretest was given at the start of an instructional program within the built environment, 4 weeks later and once completed, the posttest was applied. Both instruments have 30 items, the same questions with a different order. The study was carried out on potential users, which in this case were students of Undergraduate Degree in Primary Education Program at the universities of Cordoba, Seville and the Basque Country. RESULTS. Several hypotheses have been established, for analysis it was verified whether there were significant differences between the pretest and posttest and the contrast between them was established using Student's t-test. Although no significant differences were observed from a statistical point of view, the study shows that, overall, more mistakes were made at the beginning of the experience than at the end of it. DISCUSSION. The findings show that the students involved in the experience support the significance of iPLE learning environment and their potential in university education.
