Abstract

Here we describe the story of PbWO4 scintillator material development. The role of Crystal Clear Collaboration in all stages of R&D is described. In spite of the fact that lead tungstate is widely used in high energy physics instrumentation, its development still ongoing. Resent findings show that crystal is suitable for fast timing in collider experiments.
