Abstract

Primary hyperhidrosis and anxiety disorders possibly share the same ethiopathogenic pathways and may have a relationship mediated by autonomic overexcitation as a form of intermittent dysautonomia. High rates of anxiety are present in primary hyperhidrosis patients. In its turn, high rates of hyperhidrosis are present in patients with anxiety disorders. Therefore, clinicians should be aware of investigating this correlation and possible co-morbidity.
