Educational robotics are increasingly integrated from early childhood to postsecondary education. In some cases, robots are used as an extracurricular activity that is not oriented towards the learning objectives of the curriculum. In other cases, the educational robotics activities are aligned to the curriculum objectives or the development of the 21st century skills such as collaboration, problem solving, creativity, critical thinking and computational thinking. In this paper, we introduce a scenario-based approach for designing educational robotics activities aiming to support co-creative problem solving in K12 formal education contexts. After describing the scenario to support planning and orchestration of ER in K12 education, we introduce a taxonomy composed of five different ER activities according to the learners’ engagement in the co-creative knowledge building and problem solving process.
