Difficulties in diagnosis and treatment constitute urological problems in pregnancy. It is possible that some urological problems persist even after pregnancy. During pregnancy, the urogenital system affects both the mother and the fetus by undergoing physiological and anatomical changes. Maternal and fetal complications can be prevented through early diagnosis and treatment. In developing countries, pregnancy-related acute kidney injury remains a major problem despite all measures taken. The most common causes of acute kidney injury in pregnancy differ depending on the gestational week. A detailed medical history, physical examination, drugs used, and laboratory tests should be evaluated for the assessment of kidney injury. For pregnancy-related acute kidney injury, the specific treatment depends on the underlying etiology. It is necessary to determine medical treatments and interventional procedures taking into account the benefits and risks for the mother and fetus.
