Abstract

Two new xanthones, namely pruniflorone K (1) and L (2), have been isolated from the roots of Cratoxylum formosum ssp. pruniflorum, along with thirteen known xanthones (3-15). Their structures were mainly established using the spectroscopic methods. Only isolated compounds with sufficient amount were evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activities. © 2010 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
