Abstract

As oilfield gradually enters into high water stage, it becomes an urgent problem to ravel the remaining oil distribution for oil well’s redevelopment. That’s also important for improving per well production and enhancing oil recovery. Due to the proportion of horizontal well in Changqing Oilfield gradually increase, in order to expand the application range of neutron lifetime. This paper evaluates the formation porosities by applying the neutron lifetime logging technology and the supporting technology – horizontal well logging technology. In additional, by using the field data, it also derives a formula for calculating the remaining oil saturation formation. At last, it divides the water-flooding grades in production layer. After having been verified by well test and put into production, the coincidence rate of the technical conclusion is above 85%. This paper further improves the neutron lifetime logging technique and its interpretation method, which can provide technical support for exploring the residual oil in oilfields’ middle and later development periods and has achieved a well effect.
