Abstract

In this chapter, I reflect on decades of my community experiences and successfully teaching social justice to future generations of psychologists, therapists, and healers. I share personal accountability, awareness of intersectional identity, relational power and privilege, and self-of-the-therapist work through a framework of first 'looking in the mirror,' then inviting my students to 'bear witness' for their own growth. My teaching of social justice is dynamically described through narrative situations in education and training, subsequently leading to more just practices in and among diverse communities.
