Abstract

Content and services (subsequently termed simply “content”) represent the added value provided by ICT through “super information highways”. We tend to call them eContent (“e” for “electronic”), although some elements of some services do not even have a “digital” structure (e.g. RFID). Over the centuries, mankind has produced an ever-increasing amount of content in different formats, using different techniques and technologies. It is intended that some of this content will survive become our legacy to future generations, while most of the content is initially maintained but eventually becomes obsolescent and disappears
