Abstract

Energy saving strategies on asynchronous machine drive is a common practice in various industrial applications. Frequent performance tests over time instigate maintenance decision extends the machine’s life span and enables energy conservation. Traditional performance testing of machine in the test field causes energy wastage, long run testing creates a significant amount of energy exhaust. In this paper, an effective load test method with energy feedback called regenerative loading is adopted for loading the machine and tested using motor analyzer. Equipping the motor analyzer, the instantaneous mechanical output power of the test machine along with torque and speed can be observed. Right away, the live efficiency also obtained during each operation cycle. An experimental approach of regenerative loading on asynchronous machine drive is carried out, as well as, the mechanical and electrical performance of the motor is demonstrated using motor analyzer.
