Abstract

In this chapter, we fi rst briefl y review the growing research on the impact of military-related separation on very young children and selected program models designed to support military families. We then describe infant mental health and family-based interventions that informed the development of Strong Families Strong Forces , a reintegration program for parents returning from deployment and their families with children birth to 5 year olds.
