Abstract

Due to the increasing degree of technicality and flexibility in production there is an increasing need for education and training at all levels in the spinning industry. This article discusses an educational project now underway which involves a number of European universities, training bodies, spinners and machine manufacturers, funded by the European Commission. The aims of this project are to provide a forum for information exchange and to improve access to new communication, teaching and training techniques. The resultant course will be assessed by lecturers, spinners and machine manufacturers.
