This chapter talks about how the conceptual assessment framework (CAF) described in the previous chapter is used to score an assessment. The models of theCAFlay out the structures for data, materials, and messages needed for the activities that constitute an operating assessment system. A four-process architecture describes agents (people, computers, or some mix) that actually carry out the operations—from determining what to to, to interacting with examinees, to capturing and evaluating theirwork, to creating and reporting results.
