Abstract

This chapters deals with simulation, i.e., simulating natural processes using computers. The authors consider a problem from physics, showing how to calculate the heat distribution in a metal rod or plate using so-called Gauss-Seidel iteration. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
