The global economy is greatly affected by the number of start-up organizations in both new and established companies. U. S. engineering schools are addressing the new entrepreneurial skills their graduates must know to be successful in the global economy. Examples are given of engineering schools, private foundations, and companies working together to present information and experiences to students to develop a larger pool of entrepreneurs. Some of the information and experiences are integrated into the curricula and some are offered as extracurricular activities and internships. There are many questions to be answered about teaching this information to students—who, when, where, and how.
