Abstract

The volume contains 10 papers covering the following topics: problems inherent in the determination and influencing of wear in metal pairing; effect of material and heat treatment on wear in rolling ferrous materials; experiences with the application of boriding for wear components; material problems in railroad wheels; effect of hard abrasives on metals; problems involved in the evaluation of sliding properties of copper castings; application of hardened sheet steel for chutes in mining installations; nitridation phenomena in chemical plants; effect of various technological factors on fretting corrosion of steels; and temporary corrosion protection of metallurgical products.
