Abstract

Presents the results of a survey of the users of the Florida Library Information Network (FLIN), Florida's statewide multitype interlibrary loan network. Responses to the survey provide a profile of the various types of libraries that participate in FLIN. Centres upon the role of academic libraries, the heaviest users of interloans in the state. Interlibrary loan staffing, request fulfillment, On-line Computer Library Center (OCLC) utilisation network performance, and other factors are discussed. Examination of these aspects of interlibrary loan provides the basis for evaluation of the critical role of academic libraries in a statewide interlibrary loan network.
