Abstract

Currently, even the most efficient parts of UK manufacturing are being closed down and being moved to the Far East. A close look at this scenario reveals UK's relatively poor performance in supply chain management. To date, the UK industry has taken a number of techniques, such as supply chain management, distributed resources planning software and electronic data interchange, to reduce their inventories and changeover times. What it needs to do now is to improve the office and the supply chain in order to stay competitive worldwide.
