Abstract

Two new Australian species of Diphascon (Eutardigrada) are described: Diphascon (Diphascon) claxtonae sp. nov. and Diphascon (D.) australianum sp. nov. They differ from one another, from D. pingue (Marcus, 1936) and from Diphascon pinguiforme Pilato & Binda, 1997/98 in some characteristics of the bucco‐pharyngeal apparatus and of the claws. © The Royal Society of New Zealand 1998.
