Abstract

The 4 components of this chapter are (1) a brief presentation of some strengths of resiliency research; (2) a general orientation toward risk and protective factors and resiliency research that may, at a general level, clarify alternative conceptual models and measurement traditions; (3) an enumeration of some measurement weaknesses in risk and protective factor research; and (4) the consideration of systematic ways to maintain the vitality and promote the longevity of resiliency research.
