Abstract

Sustainability became a very important requirement in research projects, especially in digitalisation projects and their information systems. The problem in planning sustainability of data and systems is the unknown future of technical and organisational conditions for running these systems and services. In this paper, we want to look at a digital archive project about digitised historical music sheets which was built from 2003 till 2005 and generally modernised in 2017/2018. We want to present the challenges in rebuilding a 12 years old digital archive and discuss the lessons learned.
