Abstract

Knee dislocations, or multiligament knee injuries, are a very rare injury encountered by emergency medicine providers, but one the provider should be intimately familiar with because of the need for rapid intervention to prevent the high rate of morbidity associated with this injury. Here we review the keys to identification of the injury, the evaluation of concerning knee injuries, the immediate steps to correction, and a suggested approach to disposition.
