Nonsurgical Periorbital and Facial Rejuvenation: A Paradigm Shift for Patients and Surgeons

Abstract

There is an expanding role for nonsurgical techniques in periorbital and facial rejuvenation. While these treatments can sometimes replace surgery, they more often play an adjunctive role. First, this chapter presents an approach to evaluating patients and reviews the current understanding of the aging face. While new products are entering the market at lightning speed, we present an overview of the current classes of products and techniques available. Furthermore, the underlying philosophy behind successful aesthetic rejuvenation is introduced. There is a synergy to these techniques, which should be capitalized upon for the benefit of the patient.
