Abstract

Clock drift is a phenomenon present in every physical oscillator. The causes of clock drift are very diverse, going from mismatch between clocks or between their environments to charges injected from external radiation. Modern atomic clocks, however, are often more accurate than the rotation of the earth itself (Wikipedia: Clock drift (2013). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clock_drift ).
