Abstract

A three-dimensional time dependent finite element model for the study of radio frequency ablation is presented. For demonstration purposes, the model is used to quantify the effects of fluid flow velocity on ablation lesion dimensions, ablation efficiency, and temperature distribution in the tissue and the blood.
