This chapter utilises intersectionality theory in relation to bisexualities. Intersectionality theory draws on a number of the theoretical frameworks that have previously been discussed in this book, in particular materialism. However, by undertaking a materially grounded synthesis of feminisms, critical race theories, and other theories that address social forces and structures, intersectionality theory provides a particularly flexible and nuanced mechanism for understanding the ways in which bisexualities, and other non-normative sexualities, are forged.
