Abstract

Pharmaceutical marketing is the set of promotional activities that ensures that medicines reach patients by first identifying the customer’s needs and desires and then meeting them in the best possible way. This process is crucial during the commercialisation phase of the drug. The pharmaceutical market is very different from the traditional consumer market in several ways, including the highly regulated environment. In this chapter, we explain the main activities of marketing professionals, the required qualifications and skills, as well as the career opportunities.
