Abstract

With the increase of global competitiveness, the countries that reach a better economic situation tends to attract a network of international cooperation resulting from foreign direct investment. In this regard, China has achieved high level of attractiveness. As a partner of Brazil in a strategic sector such as energy, China has been acting in a way that has a relevant flow of exchange among countries. Energy is an important productive input and an item of great importance in household consumption. To guarantee adequate amount of energy for consumption requires strategic partnerships to ensure the energy security. Through a bibliographic analysis and based on secondary data, one can infer the range of opportunities offered by this partnership, from the process of merger and acquisition of companies to the perspective of job and income generation.
