Abstract

The geology, tectonics and mineralizations of the Novazzo and Val Vedello U deposits in the Collio Basin are described. In addition, U occurrences in Permian continental sandstones of the southern Alps and in Permian metamorphosed volcano-sedimentary formations of the western Alps and U mineralization in Quaternary volcanics of northern Latium are described. The most significant U mineralizations occur in the Preit valley near Cuneo where present proven reserves are some 200 t U3O8 of average grade 600 ppm.-J.M.H.
