Konsep Desain Arsitektur Vernakular untuk Terminal Tipe-B di Sidoarjo

Abstract

Terminal is a place to drop and pick passengers up and also arrange for the arrival and departure of public transport. The problem that arises is that Sidoarjo Regency is one of the cities in East Java Province which is beginning to experience the development of social activities but does not yet have the availability of adequate transportation facilities and infrastructure. Sidoarjo Regency currently has only one terminal (Larangan Terminal) in the city. Terminal access is no longer in a strategic area for urban transport transportation. Facilities and capacity of the existing terminal is inadequate and even looks stalled and not maintained. Many fleets do not meet the standards and not many operate. The method used in the preparation of this architectural concept is analysis through comparative studies of literature, field, interviews and documentation. The lack of quality of existing facilities at the terminal is currently the reason and my motivation to aim at planning and designing the Sidoarjo b-type terminal. The benefit is the object can increase the attractiveness of the people of Sidoarjo to use mass transportation so that it can indirectly reduce the volume of congestion due to the increasing use of private vehicles.
