This research article presents a study on the state of the art of heritage education in the Ibero-American context. The study is developed through an analytical documentary process with a qualitative methodology -case study-. The study is developed through a mapping that registers the theoretical references and the methodological bases that support the educational practices of the Brazilian territory, as a result of an investigative stay funded by MINECO. The study addresses in detail the program "Plataforma Paranapiacaba: memory and experimentation", as a reference among the various existing programs for the purpose of reactivation and socialization of the heritage. The results show the educational processes that have been identified throughout the study and point out different keys for future development.
