Abstract

Cancer prostate is the most commonly diagnosed cancer as well as the second most common cause of death in the United States of America. In 2009, as many 192,280 (25%) men were estimated as new diagnosis with prostate cancer (Jemal et al., CA Cancer J Clin 60(5):277-300, 2010). Of the several treatment options available, surgery is the gold standard and offers potential for long-term cure (Bil-Axelson et al., N Eng J Med 352(19):1977, 2005).
