Abstract

This paper presents a new tool for the analysis of saccadic ocular movements from electroculographic signals. This graphic tool based in the automatic detection of the saccades it was designed with the Delphi 7.0. This tool allows, in a comfortable and efficient way: to add, to eliminate, to move the onset and offset points of saccades and to calculate the parameters for the diagnosis (latency, saccadic velocity and deviation). The obtained results allowed diminishing the errors in the diagnosis, taking into account the highly tedious way of the tool that motivated this work. Results can be analyzed graphically or numerically and also can be saved for further processing. The EOG signals in two different formats can be read and many tests can be loaded at the same time for comparison purposes. Also a detailed analysis of each calculated parameter is presented to understand its meaning. © 2013 Springer.
