This chapter questions whether internationalisation has evolved from what has been traditionally considered a process based on values of cooperation, partnership, exchange, mutual benefits and capacity building to one that is increasingly characterised by competition, commercialisation, self-interest and status building. Do these dramatic changes indicate that the once valued and perceived difference between internationalisation and globalisation of higher education is being eroded? Or is internationalisation having an identity crisis as to its fundamental values and what drives the process and outcomes?
