Abstract

To honour Edith Tilmans-Ostyn, I elected to talk about « consultance » in accordance with her definition by means of several applications of the Lausanne Trilogue Play, LTP. Elaborated at the Lausanne Center for Family Studies with Elisabeth Fivaz-Depeursinge, this situation lends itself to the assessment of family interactions for research as well as a clinical instrument for therapeutic interventions, the goal of « consultance ». Being myself at the dawn of professional retirement, I have traced in this paper situations in which I was personally implicated as a consultant-therapist, using various versions of the play (father-mother-baby, prenatal with a doll, therapist-mother-baby play). These clinical descriptions are associated with reflections on the properties of « consultance », specificities of therapeutic interventions on early family relationships and the use of video: a way to transmit a know how. © Médecine & Hygiène.
