Abstract

Dresden-base company "SDV - Die Medien AG" is positioning itself on the market for individualized and personalized printed products. The company has developed a solution that allows printed advertisements to be personalized. A ST 400 gang stitcher was modified in cooperation with Heidelberg Druckmaschine AG. Directad is the revolution in the advertising market. Here, adverts are combined with individualized "tip on cards", which are tailored to the respective subscriber. The personalized address means newspaper adverts attract considerably more attention than classical adverts. The advert becomes a direct marketing tool. The postcards are digitally printed in four colours before being combined with the advert and are automatically incorporated into the magazine.
