Abstract

Field-based learning is essential in a number of different study disciplines in secondary education as well as in higher education. However, the reduction of field trips for many reasons, such as the limitation in time and expenses increases the demand for alternatives solutions. There is a need for an alternative way to provide learners with rich field trip and fieldwork experience. Advanced technology, such as educational games are a promising medium to design and develop virtual field trips. This study aims to provide a conceptual framework to facilitate the designing of virtual field trip games.
