Abstract

The efficiency of traditional ballistics imaging system is heavily dependent upon the expertise and experience of end-user. An intelligent ballistics imaging system is highly demanded to address this issues. This paper presents a novel ballistics imaging system which achieves traditional functions and many new features including line-scan image module, characteristics extraction module and intelligent image processing module. Benefit from these features, the system can identify firearm more efficiently and effectively. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2010.
