Student Critical Thinking Ability in Solving PISA-Like Mathematics Problem in The Context of Palembang Tourism “Bait Al-Quran Al-Akbar”

Abstract

This research aims to develop the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in the context of Palembang tourism using PISA-like mathematics problem, and the PMRI approach. This research took a special research subject for eighth grade junior high school students in the city of Palembang. The methodology of this research is a formative evaluation type of design research. The data were analyzed qualitatively through tests, interviews and observations. The results of the research on students' critical thinking skills in solving PISA type questions in the tourism context of Bait Al-Quran Al-Akbar Palembang have good critical thinking skills with a percentage of 71.42%. This research can teach students to think critically and introduce tourism and culture in Palembang at the same time.
