Abstract
This paper presents a short biography and the academic career of Professor Francisc Viliam KOVÁCS. During the academic carrier he occupied administrative leadership positions at the “Politehnica” University of Timisoara. Professor Francisc KOVÁCS is a road opener of the teaching and research field of Robotics in Romania and made several important contributions to the theory of the machines and mechanisms.
