Abstract

PGP email encryption technology is a double-edged sword, on the one hand it is helpful to prevent the user’s email content from being monitored or tampered. On the other hand, some criminals take advantage of PGP encrypted email to engage in illegal activities. In this paper, we propose an effective method to crack PGP encrypted email message by recovering the corresponding private key password, which provides the feasibility for the judicial investigation, counterterrorism and prevention of criminal activity.
