Devens Redevelopment

Abstract

The article discusses the emergence of a successful eco-industrial park in the former Fort Devens in north central Massachusetts. The success of Deven's redevelopment is based on its commitment to sustainable development and its holistic approach of that concept. The success is attributed to a take-off period involving more hard work and commitment from both the Devens Enterprise Commission (DEC) and its employees. The redevelopment of Devens is based on a concrete plan and a sound economic development strategy.
