Abstract
Tablet technology and its associated applications have the potential to improve the quality of life of older adults. Current tablet usability studies involving older adults have been performed using qualitative measures focused on older generations of tablets, limited by its weight, power, resolution and availability of appropriate applications. We adopt a qualitative approach involving 25 older adults in low-income independent living facilities for studying usability and accessibility settings. We discuss our findings and propose changes that could improve the tablet experience for older adults.
