Practicing Spanish-English bilingual supervision takes place in a multicultural space in which relational meanings heighten complexities of sexuality, spirituality, class, gender, and race, in the back and forth, in creation and recreation of language. Language in therapy is not detached from identity, meaning development, and worldview. Being bilingual is not just a language issue: it is a worldview, a practice, and a way of being. This chapter will discuss the motivation to become a Spanish-English bilingual supervisor, define Spanish-English bilingual supervision and my supervisor role, address the supervision language and clinical alterations, and discuss the role of social justice in bilingual supervision.
